The Salvation is criminally slept on . I think he can be a hard listen sometimes for certain people because you have to read between the lines in his lyrics. Which is not for everyone ...

Live from the tape deck is great as well

:myman:

Co fukking sign. Loved the Salvation because I was already a Skyzoo fan, but Live From the Tape Deck took me far too long to get into. I didn't like it all at first, actually. I forget the circumstances, but I copped that shyt, gave it a listen, and avoided it for a long time. Even went so far as to say I disliked it. Then I popped it in at random one day, and the second Digital Analog hit I was like :ooh: then :smugdraper:

Been a huge fan of dude since then. Great Debater was my shyt, heavy. Salvation has joints that I still regularly give spin to (Maintain damn near brings a tear to my eye, My Interpretation does the same), and I've been highly anticipating A Dream Deferred since I heard about it.

Great thread.

Forgot to mention that I'm using this shyt as theme music...

If I ever happen to need theme music, of course.

Son gets beats from A-list producers you'd think would never fokk with indie artists

last album it was Just Blaze and Nottz to a lesser extent
this album he has at least 2 DJ Khalil joints

He got that beat from Just Blaze for DE FREE as well! No one gets Just beats for free, either, He also got a free Kanye beat back in like 05/06.

I still want to hear dude on tracks with Alchemist and Jake One. I know he's not on 9th Wonder's label anymore, but I think they're still cool. I wonder what production he has from 9th or the Soul Council on this new one. I'm sure Eric G will be on there. They've been working together for a long time.

I can always say one of the best lyricists on the planet right now wrote a couple of songs in my car in 2005. Sky is the man.

For people comparing him to Torae, Torae isn't as complicated, but they are neck and neck, and sound great together. Barrel Bros let's go!

That's good shyt right there.

And yeah, I'm a big fan of Torae as well. I'd probably give the edge to Sky, but ain't no shame in that at all. I send a tweet to each of 'em occasionally keeping that joint album on their minds. They compliment each other damn near perfectly.
