WWE held a live event on Friday in Tokyo, Japan at the Ryogoku Kokugikan. At the show, Shinsuke Nakamura was advertised to challenge AJ Styles for the WWE Title. However, due to Nakamura suffering a bite from a police dog on Monday, the title contender came out on crutches and cut a promo for the fans.

This led to Samoa Joe interrupting him by putting Nakamura in the Coquina Clutch. Styles made the save which led to Styles defeating Joe in a singles match.
