I like to think every book I've read has added some value to my life (except for The Fountainhead by. Ayn Rand, I think Iost a few brain cells thumbing through it)
Books like The Autobiography of Malcolm X, Race Matters, A Problem From Hell, How Europe Underdeveloped Africa, A People's History of the United States and 1984 all reinforced what I knew about the world, as opposed to introducing something entirely new.
The Elegant Universe and The Fabric of the Cosmos as well as Death by Black Hole and The C Programming Language all have done something different altogether, they've broadened my horizons, my interests, and introduced me to something that I had absolutely no knowledge in.
