Real shyt, Maino woulda took off had this album dropped in the G-Unit/ROC/D-Block/Dipset era.

His voice/flow gets repetitive & annoying after a while, and he ain't all THAT nice wit it, but off some of the production, his story, track sequencing and authenticity alone...this was a pretty decent album.

From the Intro to All of the Above (track 7) the way the album unfolds & opens up was sequenced unique and pretty dope IMO. Opening with the lead single/party track, only to have a narrative kick in afterwards and take you back to the "beginning", was dope to me. There's a handful of straight garbage tracks on here (Kill You, Here Comes Trouble, etc...) but the album starts to shine a little towards the end when he gets a little deeper on joints like Runaway Slave & Floating.

Real shyt, I was in prison (ironically Maino's uncle, a older head in his mid 30s who had been down since 2003 and got out a few months after me in 2012, name Dike-O...also the executive producer on the album, put me onto this) when it dropped, so not only did certain themes & feelings throughout the joint resonate & hit close to home, but just knowin sons fam first hand, seein Main actually come to the compound & visit his unc, while he out touring and shyt...that thoroughness always gave me a level of respect for son. Despite his shortcomings as a lyricist.

Album ain't classic material but definitely underrated.
