I first heard of Em in '97, which is around when I bought the cassette of The Slim Shady EP after I heard him killing freestyles on The Wake Up Show. So emcees that debuted after '97 that I'd rank above Em,

Torae
Roc Marciano
Last Emperor
and maybe Planet Asia.

I may be forgetting one or two that debuted after '97, but there's not many. Overall I think he makes weak music, but there's no denying his ability on the mic.

All those cats except Action came out before Em tho. And while they all make better music and albums than Em, only dude in that list I'd say could hang with him bar for bar is Ill Bill, and thats debatable.
