There are nice areas. Plus downtown is ok.
There are problems areas like any city.
But it's top three in things like scientific research and technology job creation. One of the main ports in amerikka is the Detroit Canada one. Plus the culture and feel of Detroit is good... most cities within the USA are depressed souless shells with no culture and are pointless. Detroit isn't that way despite economic troubles.
