Humanbeings are retards, we're just going to keep overusing plastics and pay no attention to articles like this.

Sooner we wipe ourselves out the sooner the earth can breathe again.

There's no point in having an earth if there aren't any humans.

Then go ahead and inject yourself with em if you love it so much.
That study was based off ONE Liter of bottled water.
Ya let's wait until it's completely proven that billions of nanoplastics in our system can cause issues.

If you didn't know cancer is skyrocketing, nobody knows why.
If there life ending diseases that are increasing do you not think you shouldn't wait until it's fukkin proven for something that should be self-evident like hey how about NOT having billions of billions of nanoplastics in our system??????

This needs to be dealth with immediately and globally!!!!!!!!!!
It also has been proven that there's nanoparticles straight from the source as well, meaning even after passing your city's drinking water filtration system.

I don't say this enough.

You're absolutely right Breh.

Most of the Brehs I disagree with on here are not wrong about their overall facts and overall POV.

I do agree with your points.

But. We are already there. Even if we stopped polluting this second, the subject of this thread would continue. The reason I am so glib, is because I am responsible just as much as anyone. Sure, the dude who invented plastic or the corporations who pump it out exert more effort, but they are doing it all for MEEEE. For US.

If I really was up in arms, would I be typing into this little gadget with rare earth metals and all kinds of environmentally terrible ingredients? I drive to the store 10 min away when I could easily walk around the corner. I use plastic grocery bags instead of bringing sustainable ones.

Based on my daily actions. I don't give a fukc.

I care on the inside like you. Makes me wanna HOLLLLAAAA... right?

But then I throw away a whole vacuum cleaner and buy a new one. Don't even think about fixing it.

My point is this is unavoidable, these particles are too small to filter out of the environment.

And that right there is why humanity stays in reactive mode.

Now we're scrambling to figure out a way to get organisms to eat the plastic. Then when those organisms take off, the side effects will have people with the inevitable Pikachu face as though those couldn't possibly have been considered beforehand. And when those organisms suddenly develop a taste for whatever's adjacent to the plastics they're supposed to be targeting - wildlife, crops, livestock, pets, humans - it's suddenly another set of "unforeseen" consequences.

To say that something is very off in that mindset and approach is putting to severely understate things.

I think you are conflating the environment vs the more IMMEDIATE danger of having billions of nanoplastics in our bloodstream.

And also i'm not against plastic, I think plastic is a wonderful invention. It just should be used for non-disposable products.
So not like utenils, bags, or bottles.
More like car engines or something.. Of course you can't use plastic for a car engine, i'm not just not able to think of a better example at the moment I just smoked a blunt.

Maybe one day nanotech will finally live up to its hype and we'll have the ability to ingest billions of nanorobots that'll get rid of all the microplastics in our system. That's wishful thinking. We have to move on from using single use plastic as a civilization.

Nanoplastics haven't been proven to be harmful, I read an article that said they might be too small to create an immune response.

Plastics might be causing sperm levels to be dropping in western countries and other hormonal issues
