Trust me breh, i went into it looking at it all wrong. Coming from DBZ & Naruto & Bleach i wanted that again.. This was way more of an adventure based and i was more connected to the characters. I don't care if Krillin dies or Shikamaru dies,... if any of the Straw Hats dies

I follow OP loosely every few years through arc synopsis to see if its worth watching again, its not.
Its hilarious people talking about talk no jutsu in Naruto when afaik basically out of you know who no one fukking dies in OP
20+ years. 20+ years and Luffy is still a bum ass static fakkit with asspull powers and a useless crew who do less than Dipset.
The way theyve built up some of these characters like Shanks it is almost impossible to have them be resolved competently with even the best of writers and Oda is a hack so ofc its gonna be trash. Gear 5 trash

A few things to keep in mind if you're unfamiliar with OP. The fights aren't as flashy as Naruto, but a ton of them have a lot of emotional buildup that a quick clip won't show. One thing I've loved about it is Luffy is nowhere near the strongest character at first. You know how in a lot of shonen, the MC will win a fight just because he's the MC or with the power of friendship? In OP, the MC's get their asses kicked quite often.
In fact, one of the biggest changes in the series comes after an overwhelming defeat. Sometimes they literally have to run because their opponent outclasses them that hard. There's people in verse you just don't fukk with like admirals. Until you get to them, you think the MC's can beat anybody. Further in, there's a situation where people warn Luffy not to fukk with this specific person as he's basically deemed above the law. Well, you can imagine what ends up happening. But he's the MC and the power of friendship will overcome right?
