I never understood why Jiraiya vs Itachi was ever up to discussion. Jiraiya is terrible at genjutsu, under his own admission, and Itachi is the most powerful genjutsu user in the manga. Jiraiya got bodied by Pein who was fukking around, Itachi damn nearly solo'd a Pein who was using the full extant of his abilities. Ignoring Jiraiya's genjustu prowess, Itachi's intentions and the Pein vs Itachi fight...this is question of believing to hyberbole/deception or taking into account what we've seen panel to panel.
Jiraiya never has compared because Itachi and the Uchiha are too broken.

Itachi was a double agent when he told Kisame they would only stalemate Jiraiya. Only a stan would ignore the fact that Itachi was pro Konoha and never made any outright attempts to murder a pro-Konohan citizen, especially one of their strongest.

Itachi beat a more powerful limitless edo Nagato with little to no help from Bee and Naruto..... And Naruto stated he was much stronger than when he fought the 6 paths

You know whats funny is that Itachi probably didn't need their help when he said lets throw our most powerful long distance attacks at the gravity ball. He probably just said that to make them feel better since Naruto and Bee were so useless during that powered up Nagato battle.

but at the same time, like you said nagato was more powerful and had limitless chakra due to the edo

Itachi ALSO had limitless chakra, and since kabuto brought back most of them nikkas stronger than they were before they died it's safe to assume that itachi was stronger too right?

not to mention Uzi had a shytload of clones running around everywhere else, he only had a fraction of his chakra





im not championing for anyone in this argument im just sayin that there was more to it than how you put it.

Where was it said that Madara could.. YES, We know he's strong but so is the 2nd and CLEARLY its not like Madara is just going to walk over him.. Tsunade and co gave him ''the work'' or light work and kinda got him in a way, Madara lucky he had Hashiramas cell with him..

So you think the 2nd wont be a match for normal non Hashirama called up Madara ??

I like Itachi and J-Man equally the same I'm of a fan of the 4th, Garaa, Neji , Lee/Guy and Naruto so I'm not champion for either. in fact on the I argued more towards J-Man, but after a lot of light was shined on Itachi in recent chapters he was basically a walking cheat code.

But in reference to your statement if you follow the same line of thinking they were both given unlimited chakra they were put on equally footing in that regard, however dispelling Nagato's jutsus were all due to Itachi's planning. Not to mention releasing himself from the Edo. It would be pretty safe to assume that if they were alive and healthy remember they both were before they died that Itachi may have been able still beat him. Itachi's amerutsu and perfect Susanoo with that sword still gives him an advantage against Nagato . For the most part in that battle Itachi was planning and saving Naruto and Bee from being captured.
