It was a 7 song, 25 minute albumThe 2nd half is dope
I always wondered if they only recorded those 7 songs, or were those the 7 that made it?Nasir was ok but definitely not up to what it should have been.
My anticipation was high because Nas and Kanye sounds like a good match, plus Pusha’s joint Daytona was dope as fukk.
But the production on Nasir was lacking and the tempo was too slow over too many songs. Nas is good for a slow joint here and there but damn near 5 out of 7 is too much
The nikka had Nas recording in the back of a car on his way to his album release bruh. LolI always wondered if they only recorded those 7 songs, or were those the 7 that made it?
What? Is this true? The nikka had Nas recording in the back of a car on his way to his album release bruh. Lol
Yessir. It’s why the album didn’t hit the deadline. Kanye was buggin tf out. Nas lost a whole day of sales cause of that. What? Is this true?
I actually liked QUITE a few songs on Lost Tapes 2.... It was not the original I know as far as quality but I liked the project and need to break it out again to listen. This has been such a great era for Nas. It really does feel like he's in his second prime right now.
Kanye had him trapped in the back of cars writing rhymes to beats that didn't even make the album. Treating him like some kidnapping victim.
I still think Lost Tapes II was a dope project, but it looks like everybody else disagreed. Some of those songs would be standouts on an actual album.
King's Disease shut everything down and was one of the best things about 2020. That album ended up being the start of a run that destroyed narratives, restored faith, and proved that you don't have to lose your edge as an older rapper. Plus, a guy who didn't exactly have the best track record with Nas created the backdrop for all of it. We all got to be part of something beautiful over the last couple years.![]()
I agree I liked every release better... I think my faves are KD3 and Magic and they were the most recent releases... KD1 was cool but 2 as you said blows that out of the water. If the next release follows the trend we are in for another classic. Nas reiinvented himself with HIT and they got something going to it would be foolish to stray from that formula and what is working the last few years.I’m glad Nas decided to go with a more modern sound and more relevant producer with Hit Boy. That sole decision was a stroke of musical genius because they’ve gotten better and better with each release. To follow up the excellent Kings Disease with KD2, which BLOWS KD1 out of the water was an incredible feat, and then to out of NOWHERE drop Magic!?!?
