No beef but back in the day Nas felt a way that the Roots happily played backing band to Jay-Z during his Unplugged performance when Jay-Z performed Takeover. They even put EXTRA sauce on it by interpolating Oochie Wally and NY State of Mind while Jay was doing the Nas part of the diss
Nas also felt The Roots were dissing him in the What They Do video. Biggie felt a way about that video too.
Nas went on radio and called The Roots a bunch of Sambos for performing with Jay. It was tension ever since
Black Thought was angry about Nas calling them Sambos and they met up backstage at a show and talked it out

Questlove been telling this salty story about how he went to the studio with his lunch and Nas walked up to Quest. Quest saw Nas and was like OOOH, and wanted to dap him and instead Nas said thank you and walked away with Quest's lunch. Quest been salty about Nas ever since mad that Nas didn't recognize him and took his food. Should've been mad at himself for being so shook.
Also, if Nas thought Quest was the delivery boy, then who ended up with Nas' food? So many questions.
