This nikka still thinks its the '90s

I don't I just would rather hear that than with timbo. I wasn't a fan of a lot of the production on mchg and my favorite beat on there was the hit boy song. I'd rather hear nas over some of the shyt Joey badass spit on, it's 90s influenced but it matches his flow so well and I loved the production on life is good

Nah... not cause Nas couldn't use a change of pace... but because he'd be exposed.

Sorry but even tho' I think Nas is an all-time great, he has a certain pocket he has to be in. Anything outside of that and he sounds lost. It's the thing that stands as a strike against him when people call him the GOAT- he clearly has a comfort zone that always causes him to suffer when he tries to get out of it.

I don't wanna hear a Nas/Primo album either tho'. Maybe in '99 when he reeeeaaaally coulda used it, but not now.

this is beyond asinine.

id appreciate a breakdown of "exposed"

then again your the "old skool guy" yet i wana hear a nas/primo album no matter the year.

album could be dope. I find that when beat-makers do whole albums, they are more willing to go outside of what they usually do because they have more room than when they just do a single. If they have chemistry it could be very dope.

I was never a big fan of timbo

i never been a big fan of timbo either and i dont think he is a g.o.a.t.

but if nas was spittin over 90s timbo then yeah i can look foward to a handful of tracks. not a whole LP though.

nas wouldve bodied these

nas bodied this timbo beat already :whew:

This is nonsense. Nas can rhyme over party tracks, uptempo beats with ease.

Yes, once upon a time. And when he sounded his most natural, nikkas were accusing him of going pop. Somewhere along the way, he lost that. He's had some straight terrible attempts at that style, and at pretty much any style outside of the joints he's best at doing. Give him some midtempo shyt that sounds like it coulda been made in '96 and he does his thing. I hate to put Nas in a box like that, but in recent years, he's earned that. I don't think it's by chance that his best album in 10 years was 'Life Is Good' and what was it full of? Songs that sound like the beats coulda been made in '96.

I've always considered Timbo more of an R&B producer so no I don't think it would be a good idea.

If Timbaland's an R&B producer, then what is Salaam Remi. Outside of Remi's work with Nas (his catalog consists of work with R&B and Pop artists ranging from Jazmine Sullivan to Amy Winehouse to Alicia Keys to Jennifer Hudson to Nelly Furtado.

Nas on triple dreams was murderous tho, and that was a justice league beat. I agree with lp and rza

"No Introduction" was also produced by J.U.S.T.I.C.E. League and that's one of Nas's best intro songs. There's also "Hip Hop" featuring Scarface, which IMO should've been on a Nas album instead of Khaled compilation. That song was too good.

If Timbo applies the same rule for Nas that he applies to Snoop, this album will definitely have at least one Premo beat. Tim won't produce for Snoop unless Dre has tracks on that Snoop album because he feels Snoop & Dre have a musical chemistry that shouldn't be broken.

While I love the producers he worked with for LIG, and relish the thought of him doing a whole album with ALC; I'm interested to see how this will materialize :yeshrug:
