NY used to have a ridiculous amount of unity. The music itself started to get weak when you saw dudes just runnin' with their own crews and not branching out as much. Things would be a lot better, and I think the music would get back to that classic level, if more cats started showing love and squashed all the beefin'. Way too many legends and talented dudes, and being separate from each other has kinda hurt the culture.
