Nas Discusses Possibility Of “Illmatic 2”

One of hip-hop’s greatest albums in history will forever be Illmatic, which this year marks the 20th anniversary of the debut opus from Nas. Mikey Fresh of Vibe Magazine got a chance to sit down with Escobar recently and talk about the possibility of a sequel album.

Nas reveals he has flirted the idea around for quite some time but would want Illmatic 2 to mirror to reflect the original release remaining organic in comparison to being forced. The world would obviously welcome the album, but we’re content with more new Nasty Nas albums in the future if he doesn’t feel the sequel in his heart.

Its been known for a minute he would never make an another Illmatic out of choice and is career is fine either way for it. It Was Written, Stillmatic and God Son all played big parts of extending his career as much as Illmatic did.

He makes another Illmatic, he probably fades out into the underground after 3 albums.
