Light years is a phenomenol album. I follow Nas. Been following him since 1996.

I am for his life's philosophy.

There are themes of legacy, love, truth, success.

And being proud of dressing like a hip hopper.

I work, but on my off days I always wear baggy clothes and sneakers. I always did that.

Some dudes grew up and criticize it now. Thousands online.....prolly cause they could never rock it right lol

What an album.

Shouts out Tame One.

New York State of Mind three destroyed me.

I was like cool - they cleared a Bully Joel sample, Nas is clearing samples and letting Premier take control.....very New York to have Joel. Then boom, the beat dropped!

I paused it, got up and just kept saying "holy shyt!" With a big grin on my face.

Pt 1, 2, and 3 are all perfect.

They know what they're doing when they hit that pocket.

Excellent job to Premier and Nas on Light Years!!!!!

When they said 15 tracks for this I thought that was too much. And I know it look silly to say 12-14 was better from 15 but this is what I mean.
I dont think Preem in 2025 can carry that many tracks. Even Ransom and Roc did EPs and the best stuff was a couple of tracks.

Getting the bad out of the way: I think an inital knock is the mixing is clean for Preem on a lot of the album and that just might be a 2025 thing. That first track might throw people off and NYSOM 3 is just an issue cause its not using the sample construct as the first 2. btw hilarious he took a shot at Tatum for him cosplaying in the tunnel vs the Knicks in the Playoffs :mjlol:

But it kinda finds its footing as it goes: Madman, Writers, Sons, Junkie, Nas Esco Nasir etc

Hes actually not only rapping at a good level, hes still coming with concept records. And when you're in the middle of listening to it the beats sound good, I just think its not stadium status built like Hit Boy's stuff or a 1998 Beat tape that Primo saved up. This is what he does.

I think it'll probably settle between 7.5/8 to me
