Damn bro. U saying it sounds like Nas was sabatoged?

I wouldn't use that word. I don't want to say strong armed either but it can't be a coincidence that this project has been steered to multiple people or avenues that benefit the manager. Then you listen to the beats and can clearly hear samples being replayed or original shyt from a band; the bassist is obvious but there's also a guitarist, and I think some of the drums are live too. Why is the Steve Miller band listed as a feature? Was that negotiated to get lower publishing? How many samples are truly on this album?

My point is that it's clear Mass Appeal had no issue spending money on the Legend Has It album samples. So why is there so much live playing on this one album? I think Premo and Ian wanted to maximize their pay and didn't want a bunch of samples killing the publishing on their end.

Go look at Eddie Sancho's IG story right now btw.

nikkas know what a dope beat sounds like....dont gotta sleep on it lol. dont gotta use certain speakers/headphones...just bump that shyt when its fire. too much juelzin in this thread
To me that beat sound thematically most similar to NYSOM3

I think there’s better beats than that on the album.

I listened 4x yesterday

Again, the beats are not elite but I think they're overly critiqued

The Nasty Nas Esco beat should've been the beat for NYSOM3

I thought the Sons beat should've been used for Third Childhood (Sons actually sounds like a Hit beat from KD sessions)

I wanted to hear AŻ & Nas go back & forth over Shine Together
:lolbron::pachaha: When u say the beats aint elite and try to re-arrange 6/15 tracks is that not overly criticizing:ufdup:

Don’t get me wrong. There’s def times I’ve sat on music and went back and the shyt just sounded better for whatever reason. And there’s music that u gotta put urself in a zone for it to grow on u as well. I don’t think all of these beats are horrible or wack. It’s just a lack of standouts production wise. Anyone questioning Nas’ pen on this I’m giving the side eye tho.

if Jay Z made this exact album, they would've held a parade for him:patrice:

Yep.. the write ups would be:

Jay Z slapped the face of modern production for the sake of pure hip hop which only someone with Jay z swagger could do. Jay Z is no stranger to checking modern hip hop where he once slammed the use of Autotune raps...blah blah blah

I don't even follow Primo's production at all, since like the early 2000's, but that beat in my simple terms seemed very layered and full. Whoever that rapper was is pretty bad. What the fukk is that?

Shine Together gives me chills

This shyt did not disappoint. I really needed this album in my life right now.

It's really crazy how Nas 2020's output is better than the entire careers of the vast majority of his peers. And it's clear that he can keep going at this level for years if he wants to. Just unprecedented greatness. Reminds of a great filmmaker that keeps leveling up for 30+ years.
