He’s talking about in comparison to Jay-Z. Jay got a LOT of undeserved credit for being THE rapper to make “mature” rap when Nas had been doing it since Streets Disciple and, more palatably successful on Life is Good.

Everything Jay rapped about on 4:44, minus perhaps his mothers coming out story, Nas rapped about on Streets Disciple, Untitled, Distant Relatives and Life is Good. ESPECIALLY Life is Good.

Would be ill to hear Nas over some of his production. He's one of my favorite post 2000s producers. The 1st collabo album with him and Torae is 5 mics to me. I played that religously.

This is a lie... a lot of the songs here are things that should have been on HHID... Nasty Esco Nasir, Writers, Bouquet, Pause Tapes, Junkie... Plus HHID has Who Killed It. LOL

Were judging albums not instrumental albums. Nas is a far better rapper than common. And light years has way more replay value than auditorium just because of the concepts tracks alone. Yes Pete Rock production is better. But as a all light year is a better project
