I really hate that beat tooNYSOM3 is growing on me. Not only does it sound like a score for a horror scene, it sounds like a slow, skewed version of Kick in the Door. Listen closely

Kings Disease
Blue Benz
Car #85
Ultra Black
27 Summers
All Bad
Full Circle ft The Firm
10 Points
The Cure (That beat switch)
Yall really got Light Years over this?
Yup. I been saying this. If he had the package Clipse had he’s easily selling over 100k and I stand by that.He would have easily done 60k with the right promo and features maybe even 80
Nas has always been his own biggest enemy when it comes to fully getting the most out of his commercial appeal, not popping to studio sessions with Big and Lauryn Hill on blockbuster albums because he was too high, not doing promo runs, interviews and collaborating with the right people who were popping at the time….
He just hasn’t cared for that side of things as much as some rappers, and that is something that is commendable at the same time, a true artist.
21 K first week.
I'm happy with 21k... that 5k bullshyt had me worried
Question for people who know more about how this streaming shyt works, of 1st week numbers what percentage is typically physical copies or does it just vary? Like do some artists have high 1st week numbers with purely streams?
Kendrick's vinyls sell like crazy as well. I believe Good Kid is still high on the charts because of it.Most legacy artists have higher physical sales and most younger artists tend to have more streams although artists like Tyler The Creator, Childish Gambino, and J.Cole do exceptionally well with vinyl to the point where their older albums re-chart off of vinyl sales alone. Taylor Swift does CRAZY numbers on physical/vinyl sales.
Validation.fukk y'all care about album sales? Nas ain't doing this shyt to sell albums no more.
Yall want the album to do numbers...but yall don't want the promotional vehicles to get said numbers. What do you need a video for? Listen to the damn music
When the fukk did hiphop become so commodified where you need all these in-universe tie-ins
Nas is an MC
Premier is a DJ
They make MUSIC
And as someone who has been a fan of both my whole life they did a damn good job
Criticisms on the beats, rhymes, sequencing etc is all valid but all that other shyt is dumb
He talked about this on Wu for the children. That’s why you can’t even talk to some people, they don’t focus on what you give them, only on what they projected you could give them

Yall want the album to do numbers...but yall don't want the promotional vehicles to get said numbers.
And I'm willing to bet my check that since I brought it up and the album actually did more than 5k, yall "don't care about numbers" anymore...despite posting them every chance yall get because it didn't flop as bad as initially stated.
Nas threads will forever be weirdo territory and @Cladyclad ain't the issue![]()
