Then Nas says on Madman

“It be tradition, hate they wishin' on me

Some heard somebody heard something different, distorted version of the truth

Word to Lorenzo-Irv, the Benz swerve (Err)”

Sounded like he was rebutting Irv’s version of the story

Sounded to me like a rebuttal against Noble, Snoop, and others who tried to insinuate that Pac punked Nas during their Central Park standoff.

Album is dope and better than all them Hit-Boy shyts.

Git Ready the type of throwback ish Salaam Remi would regularly give Nas that I've missed hearing him over.

The hate for NYSOM Pt3 is crazy to me. That is just a gutter ass beat completely in spirit of the original.

There's just a clear cohesion of sound and themes that the Hit-Boy albums didn't have. Nas is sharper because I'm pretty sure Preme was making him rewrite and rerecord verses, not letting him sleep walk through songs like he was doing on the last few.

It ain't a perfect record. Preme still got some misses but I also think he sounds rejuvenated on here too. Not just remaking Moment of Truth beat formula like he's been doing for 25 years.

Salute to two legends coming through

this album is no where near at least 3 of the 6 hitboy projects lol the other 3 could argue maybe id put it after magic 3 and before magic 2
To be clear Nas' rapping is as good or better here but the production isnt really close hit boys average beats were better than most of beats on here not even mentioning his standouts he just did a way better job

it does have a real nice run though and is still a good album

I’m really confused at Preemo because he gave De La Soul fire but gave Nas, the nikka he been waiting 2 decades on, subpar shyt. I guess Nas has to push back too, but he just want to rhyme I guess. This the worst of the legend series save for that Slick Rick weedplate.

I think a lot of people on here WANT to feel like its great, in parts it is great I really love the run from writters to my story your story.......but to think that waiting this long the production was gonna be this? people are just not being honest with themselves...Nas carried tho

Yep. But to put it after nastradamus it's assanine too. It's not better than most of the Hit boy joints but definitely in Nas top 10. In the bottom tho

But when you have a cat like Nas who got close to twenty album at this point it's not so much about which album is better but it's about each one of them adding a piece to the legacy. There's something for each one of the variety of his public

And Id say like 4 out of the 6 Hit Boy albums are better than this too (KD2, KD3, Magic 1, Magic 3)

Im not sure if Light Years is even in the Top 10 of Nas' discography for me, and that's saying something since he has like 20+ albums to his name

Untitled and DR are way over this also, most underrated nas projects both near classics imo
