A few more thoughts - sonically I feel like there were a lot of "creepy" "scary type" beats with a minimalist vibe. Some of the minimalist beats were cool (pause tapes I liked a lot) but idk what I was expecting. I think for the types of records on the album, letting Nas' lyrics shine was the best choice. I did hope for one "The Come Up/Watch out it go down" type beat tho ngl

It's crazy how divisive the beats are. Some I loved people hate and vice versa.

Finished the first listen. This album is the most beautiful love letter to hip hop that I've heard. Great album Nas solidified his place as the illest mc ever.

Premo did the job but yeah I expected more from him. Like @TheDarceKnight said I really think his production lacks something. The equipement and engineering is not the same. And Primo ain't getting the dope loops he used to dig. Maybe the sampling witch hunt killed his style. It's missing the banging knocks, agression and grimy feeling. I also hope that his manager don't have something to do with that. He forced Parks as an engineer instead of Eddie Sancho lately and the bass guitarist guy on primo team.

I need to listen more to it but I would say it's not better than magic 1 and Kd3 but right under with magic 3 and kd2

This ain't better than Magic come on fam. Lol

Im sorry brethren but this has that additional elixir. This is taking me back to the making sure I had fresh batteries in my Walkman days, when a breh had to catch the DOT bus until I could drive to school, and at that point/making sure I had fresh tape ready for that drive. I didn't get that feeling from any of those Hit Boy albums even though they were excellent.
