The irrational hate of Hit never made sense. I agree the partnership ran its course but he got Nas reinvigorated and inspired to focus on hip hop again, never got the respect he deserved for that.

IMO 11/15 songs are bangers. NYstate of mind 3 is probably the worst song on here IMO, which is a shame. but other than that, I don't have any complaints about this project.

When u go back and listen. It really helps u appreciate that it doesn’t even sound like ONE producer did that shyt. And he kept it interesting with the beat switches and flips. Man listen. lol. Imagine a 15 track Nas/Hit album. Hit was making atleast 30 beats for each of them shyts. That’s wild.
Thecoli has a segment of fans that are very anti commercial, which is why they despise those hit boy albums. I don’t even believe those albums are that commercial, it’s just that Hit does a good job of making digestible music that appeals to a wide audience.
A monotone primo album is right up their alley.
I like laid back shyt, so a whole album of primo is not going to work for me.

I disagree. I been listening to gangstarr since I was like 13 and have loved the production primo has done from then til now. and while he's had plenty of misses in the modern era, dude still got it. a lot of the shyt he's been producing the last couple years been hitting in my opinion, and this album sounds fresh as hell. hit-boy is dope, but he is not premier level. even in 2025.

right... I'll say this isn't bad though... but when you're expecting A+ work and get C work it feels like an F. Meanwhile nobody asked for Hitboy and He ended up overachieving.
To be honest F U C K the minority naysayers who don’t appreciate the album. Those who the album was made for appreciate it. Early reviews are positive. Its number 1 on itunes in 10 countries now. Number 4 on Apple Music (and climbing)
It was always going to be a tall order satisfying everyone and so Nas & Preme decided to do what felt right for THEM which was to make a project that paid homage to all five elements of this thing we call Hip Hop. Its a beautiful love letter to the pillars of the genre. That which every Artist, DJ, and Producer stands on when they make a dollar doing this.

Bro it’s not minority naysayers. nikkas who been praising Nas for the last few years heavy feel a way about the album. Not saying u or me don’t have to like it but it’s very telling when I can hit a timeline and see majority disappointment. It says something when I’m getting calls in real life saying “damn bro I think Premo might be washed.” That ain’t hate because I can objectively listen and understand that this sound ain’t gonna hit alotta people. This WASNT supposed to be as divisive as it is. This was supposed to be absolutely better than everything else in the Mass Appeal Legend Has It series. And it’s not better than about 2 of the albums leading up to it. And it’s crazy from u cause u spent years propping current Hit Boy up over some of these legendary producers current output when people was hating on him in favor of them. Me myself am not surprised at this cause I knew Premo can be hit or miss these days. As much as u hate on Alchemist, him and Havoc had FAR better production showings this year. Between the Gibbs album and the Mobb album. The fact that we even having this argument is a failure imo.
