Why is it impossible for people like you to comprehend that most people didn't walk into the album thinking they were getting nas is like/memory lane beats (even though they did set themselves up for this kind of critique making songs like NYSOM3 and 3rd childhood) and just thought the beats for this album were 5h1t ??? Seriously...it's not that hard s concept to grasp that people just think objectively these beats are bad/subpar

Cause honestly ....its feels that they did :mjlol:

How are people this upset about this production when this is Preem's bag for mad years and people were cool with it.

Im telling you some people thought Preem had a beat tape saved from 98 for Nas.

Al Jarreau Of Rap (which is very dope IMO, especially if you are an Al fan) and cats are still questioning Nas on how his
projects are made.

I will die on this hill (nostalgia has alot to do with it), but Jarreau of Rap is one of my favorite songs the past 10 yrs or so. It's become a summer staple for me with alot of great memories attached. I'm in the minority, but LT2 is overall my fav Nas project in this recent run.

Actually, you right...I just rechecked the tracklist for HHID and good lawd that album was a55cheeks...i wouldn't say Light Years is far from it though

And yes, topic wise a lot of those tracks would've worked for HHID, but thatrn doesn't mean they were good songs...

And when I was making the post you responded to I had mixed up the nicca album with HHID because I kept thinking "there is nothing, nothing on this light years remotely close to as good as testify and queens get the money" so my bad :yeshrug:
Testify? the song where Nas kicked two 8 bar verses barely rapping(the best instrumental on that album)? QGTM had no drums... This is more "Nas"talgia... happening which sounds weird until you realize untitled was 17 years ago. This easily beats Nastradamus, SD, HHID, Untitled, Nasir, and Magic 2.

This here.

But you can see that a lot of people don’t even get the references or concepts that Nas had on the album. We had people on here who didn't even know what a pause tape was, but were complaining about the song. They don’t know WTF Nas is talking about on this project, lol. So they're having a hard time appreciating the ideas and concepts that he put together with Preem on this.

There's a lack of knowledge going on with weirdos who think they know everything.

Bruh its insane lol I understand if theres a section that dont like Preem's style, past 20 years or so just like some dont like Hit Boy style but like I would have thought given the clamoring they knew how Prem sounds and rock with it and it wouldnt be this loud and mixed. And then the themes of the album and the songs are pretty explanatory which explains why Pause Tapes sounds like Pause Tapes etc.

The Scriptures
Facts.

But this is what happens when the casuals and new Nas "fans" feel too comfortable in the conversation. Even mentioning HB's name in the same sentence as Premier, is just wild disrespectful. We're talking two different levels of talent and production. Hit Boy could produce for another 25 years, and still wouldn't be as dope as Preem on his wackest day.

Premier is Top 2, all-time. HB ain't even Top 25, in the past 25 years. We gotta stop overrating average producers just because they worked with MC's we revere. Sh*t is beyond corny.

First off, Preem is a legend and is cemented - for what he did back in the day

But see …. The thing about the old days is, they the old days

Hit-Boy is better than Preem on his wackest day , Friday was his wackest day :mjlol:

Thun is a god tier level beat, and it shyts on anything on this album by a large margin - as well as like 15 other beats he did for Nas

And it’s well documented I’m a Hitboy hater

There are not 25 producers better than hitboy in the last 25 years … like … what are you saying bro

You calling him average while praising THIS production is ironic.
