It's a difference when asked to be a feature on someone like a Nas project where you want to be your best lyrically, at that point in time Em had said everything he possibly could. Since then/now during the continued course of her life into adulthood I'm sure more material manifested.

I see your point, but it's not like Eminem spent much time away from the subject, or approached it from a different angle like talking about Hailie as a teenager or college kid. Whenever he did mention her, the material more or less came from the same place. "Castle" is a great song, but it's him talking about things that he's already touched on. That's why when I heard "Temporary," I groaned initially because it was another song about Hailie. I didn't start liking it until the video came out.

I also think it's hilarious that Eminem appreciated Nas approaching him with a song that wasn't about battling, and then went on to do features like "Calm Down" which is literally just six minutes of battling.

But when he picks EPMD To the ladies and all party goers (So Watcha Sayin) and then LL for "If you know who you are then make yourself seen. (I need Love)

How the fuhk does he remember to go to obscure lines like that? lol

He always said that as a deejay he remembers so many lines that they just come to him when he's thinking about scratches. He said sometimes the lines doesn't work and sometimes they work perfectly, lol. He's the best at that too. Dude finds lines that nobody would even think to use.

Break beat era doesn't mean just using break beats for drums, bro.

I don’t know where you're from (it's not NYC), but a lot of y'all clearly weren't there for the sh*t y'all speak on. Preem said they wanted to do something that felt like "the era". They've said this mad times. That means stripped down production, without the need for heavy samples, so that the beats can knock. So yes, joints like "Welcome to the Underground" is how a lot of records sounded back in that era. We grew up to those kinds records in NYC.

When they played the album for us, they said, "This is like some Just-Ice sh*t". For those of us that grow up or were around for that era, we knew exactly what Nas meant. So there are no "deviations" unless you're an outsider looking for dude to make "a regular" album like that other dude said. This sh*t is for people who were there for the era. If it doesn't resonate with you, that's because it's not for you. And that's alright.

I'm from Detroit, went to school here (UM) and in Cali (USC). I'm also probably 15 years younger than you. I never said I'm from that era. But I listen to a lot of hip hop, I love 80s/90s rap and bro...this does not sound like that. And when Hit Boy did this shyt (sample packs, drum kits, etc) he got clowned and people were talking about beats not having layers. Well now what.

This is not me dying on a hill for Hit Boy. I'm not gonna sit here and give the "Hit is one of the greatest producers of all time" hype speeches that some people were giving during the run. His best beats are still with Kanye, Drake, and Kendrick. But I didn't see any discussion about sample packs or live drums or that wack bassist until I brought it up. People been in here pretending like this is Step In The Area or something and the unwashed masses don't understand it's not 1994-1999 era(s) Premo. Fam...it's not either.
