Music videos help enhance the music experience tho. There's some songs that I only started to appreciate when I saw the clip. Just imagine thriller without the video clips. I guarantee you pause tapes with a video clip would have a much better reception

I'm not sayin a bad song will become a great song just cause of a video clips. I'm just saying that it's a great addition when an artist use them to enhance his universe and the artistry as a all. This album is huge in concepts and references. A video for writers to put faces to the people he's naming and showing the work of said graffitis artist will boost the experience when listening to the song.
I took Thriller as an extreme exemple but I can take Ultra Black for example. The song was meh to me when I heard it but when I saw the video clip I started to love that song because the visuals showing black people in a positive light was beautiful

Hes' done this with the last few albums. Like Magic 1 had no visuals or even merch until 3 months after it was released. Magic 2 and 3 same thing, videos were released later on. I think when you're on an indie they test things a little rather than having a budget before hand and spending and it flops anyway. Hes done okay for an ndie on that.


Some people are panicking at what they think the first week album sales are (Which is some 5k number thats not even been verified by anyone just owl twitter ) and Im saying the model for how billboard is constantly changing. We'll probably see what it is if it charted at all by next week. I checked the Billboard 200 and it doesnt have the releases for 12 Dec for the week of 20th December (publsh date) so we;ll probably know by the weekend.

Not every album is a grand slam, but these consistent doubles & triples over a long career is what gets Nas in the Hall of Fame.

After watching the joe budden interview we know this is the album they wanted to make and the fact that Nas and preme dont have to answer to any execs to reject tracks this is the final product. The only song thats a skip for me is welcome to the underground even tho he spitting on it.

I preordered the CD so hopefully i get that soon since i wanted to support. We shouldnt get caught up in sales just appreciate the love for the craft from these 2 and hopefully other legacy artists approach Nas to release new music on his label instead of the 360 jail deals roc nation trying to hand out
