Freeway album just went gold...23 yrs after its release

We're in a new territory with hip hop bc 99% of guys who rapped in the 90s outside of Em won't go gold if they dropped today, even if it's a classic

LL had a great project with Q-tip...Common had a good project with Pete...I bet they didn't crack 250k
Free album not classic

Love it but its not

And none of those albums are classics

I said albums post 95 lol

Name these classics from the late 90s and 2000s that didn’t atleast go gold
So looking at 96-97 your argument is that the following albums are not classics:

Dr. Octagonecologyst
Stakes Is High
Soul On Ice
The War Report

Nevermind the undeniable quality and influence they had. They aren't classics because their label didn't ship 500k records and then buy a certification. This is NOT a hip hop opinion. This is the type of laughable shyt G-Unit or Drake stans used to yell about. It's not of the culture.

@Cladyclad still ducking them 4:44 and Magna Carter album threads:mjlol:

He got all the time in the world for this Nas thread but not them trash bin album threads for Jay-Z :pachaha:

More proof that Nas won

@Cladyclad can’t stay from out of Nas threads because the music is just too good and he’s really a Nas fan.

Wherever nikkas need to be told on
lost tapes is a better body of work than any jayz album outside of RD and blueprint....100%
As a big fan of both of them… LT is as good as Blueprint and RD

Definitely in that class as far as the quality of the music

I probably reach more for LT to be honest… but it might neck and neck if Jay re-releases RD on vinyl :jbhmm:

there is actually a legit argument that Lost tapes is one of the best hip hop albums OAT. idc

Most objective fans would probably agree :yeshrug:
