i think it's just far easier for bullshyt to get pushed and promoted more than ever now and a lot people's taste in music has just changed and people who don't know or who haven't been shown a variety of rappers' music outside of someone like french, accept his music as the next best thing because the nikka sucks. straight up

:salute:

I never saw the appeal in French Montana either & as a artist dude is definitely :trash:

Part of the problem with hip hop today is that cats can easily come up & have a successful career while being completely mediocre with no real talent.

people get hypnotized by an artist's "swag" and the beats they mumble over today

but it's more to rap and hip hop than artist's swag, image and style. don't get me wrong, that plays a huge part of it but the nikka gotta talent too. he gotta be able to make some great and good music and french doesn't, plain and simple

french is 1 of the examples and testaments to how wack hip hop is now (and not that it hasn't been before him and for quite some time but since he's the topic at hand right now, he's a perfect example)

Sadly, I also think it's apart of our culture as African Americans currently to readily except & promote mediocrity over excellence. When you think about the top rappers during the essence of hip hop, the vast majority were first-rate M.C's & being a skilled rapper was a prerequisite.

Nah I think Diddy put them together :upsetfavre:
Nikka French uploaded pics on his Facebook of he and The Weeknd together in 2010. It was awhile ago and I can't find the post but just a google search and you get old pics of them

Why is Kanye working with French

Almost as random as that Weeknd / French collab

Weeknd's feats use to be A1 before that

They're like brothers-in-law. Khloe, Kim? C'mon son. :troll:
French said he talks with Kanye almost everyday. He co-produced All Day remember?

From 2011. Before he signed with Diddy.

I honestly don't understand all this French hate. I mean it's true he not really good as a rapper but neither is alotta these nikkas u nikkas give passes to on here everyday. He makes catchy shyt just like them nikkas. Is it cause he from NY or some shyt?

He's the guy people want to fail, but he keeps winning that's the thing. He ain't an MC, but when has he ever claimed to be? There's a track on MC1 where he says "I know I ain't the most lyrical, I do it for the hustle"

The Wave is a vibe, its a feeling, and French got "swag" as people pointin out. He doin what he supposed to do. He ain't pretending to be Nas or Kanye, which is precisely why the Nas and Kanyes of this world fukk wit him.
