Fire ass grown man retrospect album, the most "album" sounding album he's had since I was a teenager, lol, like it flows perfectly and sounds like him and the producers were actually on one accord for a change. Off the first listen I'm running with a 4.5. After the first like 5 or 6 joints I was thinking "Yo, is this shyt about to be a classic?"...then the vibe got a little overly on some female topic shyt, which is fine since he's a grown man and should be on that time...but it felt like he just stayed there for too long. shyt reminded me of a Chris Rock special, in the beginning he is just going off about everything...then in the middle he usually goes into some shyt exposing racism and all that...then he usually ends it with the relationship shyt. Not the exact format but it seems like Nas broke up the vibe/content of the album in sections like that.

The sequencing was great, the production is his best production in damn near 20 years, he finally sounds like he truly doesn't give a fukk about appeasing the backpack dirtball sect of his fanbase anymore who wants him only a certain way or they're not happy, and he is SPITTIN but also sounds more in pocket and more flexible with the flows and shyt. It's like an updated, much better version of "I AM" to me, mixed with some LIG. Fire fire fire, congrats and salute to the king of this shyt, musically this might be in his top 3. Can't wait to run this shyt back again later.

The Deep State
Man - this year has been crazy for music.:mindblown:

I think this album might have knocked 'Don of Diamond Dreams' off my #1 spot.

I still think we're getting some greatness from out of leftfield before 2020's done too.

Black Thought, LOX and maybe Pusha x Madlib before 2021? :lupe:....:noah:
Pandemic made people zero in.

Even Drake's album/tape of throwaways was straight heat. Its insane.

28 years young ... Nas gonna always be that nikka mane.. something about him just different, yeah jigga got the money and all that but Nas just seem like a regular nikka still .. like the cool uncle that used to be on the block and still dress “younger” and you respect what he say without it seeming like he tryna preach .. top 3 on god

I listened to Nas whole catalog this week and tweeted my reviews. One thing that stuck out was his horrible female songs lol. This nikka wanted us to know he was a daddy mack so bad on his first 5 albums lol. Once he let that shyt go the quality of his albums went higher lol. IMO

Hit boy killed this.

I won't say the album is flawless, but I'm sure we can all agree this is his best body of work since Life is good. For some reason though I think the usual haters will still hate on the album.

shooter live on, kings live forever :mjcry: :blessed:

2nd listen and ill bump the rating to 4.5/5. it's between this and a written testimony for album of the year. i think this is better than LIG and nas best album since Stillmatic/Lost Tapes 1. LT2 was the definition of ehh to me and Nasir was cool (liked it more than others) but nothing I would replay outside of 3 songs. but this album is damn near perfect to me. 0 weak tracks or features. 4 decades of dropping at least 1 great or classic album :wow:

i wouldn't be surprised to hear spicy all through NY in the coming weeks, nas needs to drop this as a single.

thought jay took the catalog lead after 4:44 but I might have to revisit that argument after this fire :lupe:

was gonna check the money man album after this but i cant stop running songs back :wow:
