The reference is to how the human race started
Obviously Nas is in the click of those that think it started from Africa
(obviously one of those questions that doesn't have one true answer)
White blue eyed Jesus to some is a mighty HELL NO

Breh any 6th grade History class will teach you that Ethiopia is the cradle of human life. You haven’t heard of Lucy?

Wherever nikkas need to be told on
This is a solid single. Complete opposite of the feeling I had after listening to Jarreau of Rap. This has me excited to hear the full album. Jarreau of Rap had me nervous as fukk to hear the rest (not even saying it was wack but that shyt was so different and left field especially to be the opening single). Definitely looking forward to hearing this in the context of the album. Can’t wait to hear what else they got. “Hit-Boy on the beat, this shyt supposed to slap.” I love the energy and positivity about being black! That shyt is not a negative.

nikka. For one. Recording music doesn’t cost that much fukkin money. So I don’t even know wtf u getting at right there. Plenty of nikkas shelve music. Or leave shyt in the vaults for whatever reasons they feel. Ur whole stance makes zero sense. Otherwise we wouldn’t have unreleased music from any artist. shyt muthafukkin Michael Jackson even had unreleased music he wasn't satisfied with. Another thing. I don’t have to lie to u nikkas. Let’s get that out the way. @Big Mark posted the link.

Nas Says He Held Back ‘The Lost Tapes 2’ Because He Didn’t Want To Disrespect Pete Rock’s Legacy | Genius

Breh, take it down a notch. I made it clear in the first sentence that no disrespect was intended, and I didn't say you were lying, I said you probably believe what you been saying but either misheard or misinterpreted what Nas actually said. Which is exactly what happened here. I was asking for the source of your information because it wasn't the first time you made that claim and you never cited where you got the info from when the discussion came up the last time. And while I appreciate the link finally being posted, you're definitely taking a huuuuuge liberty with what he was actually QUOTED as saying, let alone with what he actually said in the full interview, which is what I figured might be the case, hence why I said perhaps you misinterpreted, misheard, etc., not that you flat out made some shyt up.

NOWHERE in that interview does he say he didn't release Pete Rock produced music because he didn't want fans being overly critical of Pete, his production choices, or anything of that nature. I watched the entire segment and he actually said the exact opposite. He said he felt the music wasn't up to his own standard of what he wanted when he linked up with Pete and that Nas felt that he himself didn't put 100% into it, so releasing it would be disrespectful to Pete. This is Nas judging himself, not the fans judging Nas or Pete Rock. And his exact words on what made him finally release it was, "I put it out there to see what people feel."

He held it back because HE HIMSELF wasn't satisfied with the finished product and ended up releasing it primarily to gauge fan reaction. That's almosy literally the exact opposite of what you've been claiming.

As far as unreleased music in general, obviously music gets shelved all the time for a variety of reasons. Sample clearance issues, labels not clearing guest features, marketing budgets, mergers and company buyouts, etc. But I have never once in my life heard of an example of music not being released because a guest artist or producer with no direct business ties to them needed to be shielded from criticism. That's patently absurd, and that's NOT why Nas didn't initially release those songs, according to NAS.

Sony Nas bbs gang checkin in. Shoutouts if you were in the live coverage threads when Ether came out AND when they squashed the beef and that one homie was at that New Jersey arena show typing up a play by play for us while watchin Nas and Jigga perform together

RIP to the fallen ones

And yes, a Nas drop is the only thing that still has me hyped in this music game

And yes I still celebrate Ether Day every Dec

Damn I forgot about that! Man it was so hyped then!

Mile in the Sky
Track is kind of underwhelming on first couple listens. I like the concept tho. Just seems like a filler track. Beat is mellow and chill but nothing overly dope.

Might grow on me.
