He's absolutely outdone Nas in terms of actually continuing to develop thematically and lyrically - 4:44 and It Was Written are both strong showings of that.
He doesn't have many other contemporaries still putting out quality music
FactsLife is good was better then 444
l realized that when he did the joint project with Nas and Damian Marley.I consider Nas to be more than just an MC. He is more than a street poet too. I see him more like an artist. That's why he, more than any other MC, goes against the grain with songs like Jareau of Rap, Bridging the Gap or Who Killed it. He is creating art. Artists take risks. Lupe is like that too. If there is a Nas song that doesn't hit me right away or doesn't fit in the mold that we want my hip hop to fit, I still understand that Nas is creative and I can appreciate that. Remember that his creativity and the risks he takes also give up One Mic, Rewind, Blaze a 50, etc.
true but i appreciated both for what they bought to the tableLife is good was better then 444

Kind of sucks if he got a Firm track without Nature, that would've really brought the whole story full circle.
Isn’t sounding like (old) Kanye a...good thing? Someone said earlier it sounds like Late Registration Ye and that’s so true. In fact when I first heard it I immediately was like hold on they need to add some strings here, maybe a fade out with guitar notes there, more reverb here, etc lol. It had me in Kanye mode like it was 2004.
I’m not mad at the few people who dislike it but it’s a dope single brehs.
