My breh you might be Nastradamus. This is ridiculous. Generous doesn’t really describe it.

You ain’t alone though. Lot’s of people overrate their favorite artists’ albums. Still though.

On another note, have any albums ever gotten 1 mic, two mics, 2.5 mics? It would seem that many fit the bill.

Yeah I was satisfied/it is 4 mic album to me. The beats werent wack and neither were the rhymes. If you want to go there and nitpick on production 'some of us have angels' can be singled out. Thats it.

Its was popular to dislike that record then and thats how cats like to remember it for whatever reason.

His flow was alright tho, maybe its just Nas verse being way better idk

I bet you thought he was just referring to BET star power huh . Ecstasy line fits right in with that bar too, entire verse has a theme

Well, looks like the official numbers are about 48k. Which is up from "Lost Tapes 2" but down from "Nasir". It's still overall a Top 5 debut and the highest debut for a new release this week. He lost to "The Hamilton" Soundtrack (Which NaS was on the Mixtape version by the way). That thing has been selling for years. I think it's 6x Platinum. But it's selling again because the Play is on Disney Plus and a lot of people either couldn't get tickets or missed out on the Broadway show. Next both Popsmoke and Juice Wrld are both still smashing it. It's the 1st posthumous LP for both so I'm not surprised their still doing well.

Lastly is Taylor Swift, of course she's got a huge fanbase but she just released an EP so that boosted her sales. NaS has a nice split between purchased sales and streaming once again. So he might debut high on the Digital Charts again "Lost Tapes 2" hit #1 on that chart. "Nasir" also was able to come in at #5 as well. This is NaS's 14th Top 10 Debut. It's also his 10th Top 5 Debut in his career. He also has had a Top 5 Debut Across Four Decades. Now he just needs to work some singles. Remember this was basically an independent release. Congrats for another solid LP to his catalog and to be able to still have an album resonate so many different eras away from when you first came out. NaS is a true artist in Hip Hop. As long as he's inspired, I hope he keeps going.

I agree with you that Nas was in the zone in 98-99 and through the time of the Stillmatic sessions. But Nastradamus was Nas’ worst performance rhyme wise on an album.

I actually like the personalities on DEHH but they are always wayyy off with their criticisms of albums, i just listen for the entertainment but when they said Nas played it safe with this album, i had to turn it off, like what thee fukkk? as if this sounds like any other Nas album ever. I was done with the whole review after that. complete GARBAGE.

They were mostly all positive except Ken so its all good. The fact that Myke likes it and hes the toughest to please was a good sign

Off topic but people really are sheep, lol, it's not just something that weird conspiracy theorists be saying. Why do people WHO CAN HEAR seek out reviews and critques to be told if an album THEY HAVE ALREADY HEARD is good or not? Why value that? Think about that. Unless it's concerning something I haven't heard yet or a restaurant I've never been to before, etc... then maybe I'd like to check reviews, or rather check what the consensus word is so I can decide if I want to buy it/go there or not. But if I've already experienced the thing myself then why would I possibly care what some reviewer says about it? I value my opinion way more than some random (maybe compromised) reviewer. People love to be led and told what to think by someone...anyone, whether reputable/qualified or not...but that's a whole different topic, this thread is already all over the place, lol.

Reviews are documented and are used as reference years later on how good music is. I think it’s important to document that accurately so rap fans in the feature who may be out the loop can find those quality pieces IMO.
