Interesting.

People bytching about Lost Tapes 2 is exactly why i’ll never knock Nas for for refusing to stay stagnant with the Boom Bap sound. He can do whatever he wants with whatever producer he wants and if he never goes back to that “classic” NY sound again you won’t hear a complaint out of me.

I DO think he’ll work with Premier again. And the way he was hyping up the “secret” project seemed more than just the odd collection of beats from the “usual” suspects.

But I guess we’ll see. Personally I have no problem whatsoever if he runs it back with Hit Boy, but then again i’m looking forward to whatever he decides to do next

If I had to guess, Nas is always working always in the studio even when some people think he doesnt have a work ethic (hilarious) so that explains all those producers. Its when he locks in with one or two or finds a theme that then its album time.

Yea it’s crazy when people say that because his unreleased/non-album loosie catalog is like Top 1 in hip hop :heh:

Nas has recorded a lot of shyt, especially in his younger 95’-00’ days. He’s maybe slowed down just a bit with age as expected, but I don’t think he’ll ever stop recording, Nas is a true music savant. I remember reading back in the day he recorded 100+ songs for the I Am.. album alone.

I love Lost Tapes 2 so I hate to think that how it was received (by some) would affect future installments. Especially now since we know Nas has tons of new music and barriers to hinder him from putting it out.

I believe Nas writes a lot. I believe when he puts ideas, hooks, concepts and rhymes in his phone all the time and instead of leaving them their he records it often. I’m sure there are tons of beats available to him that he would just record over. Legendary Rappers like Nas know that rhymes over a beat, no matter how sharp, polished or tight it is, is worth more than the words on a page. Even if it doesn’t necessarily make money, it can elevate the legend of their creative process and ethic. It did for pac who is viewed as having a legendary work ethic.

I'm thinking I should add "EPMD" to the album as a bonus track....so my Grammy Award Winning Edition would be 14 tracks (They previewed the song standing in front of Hit-Boy's Grammy). It actually fits well right after "Spicy". As far as what should NaS do next. Well if you look at it. "Nasir" and "KD" were both with One Main Producer overseeing them (Ye and Hit-Boy). So those weren't "Traditional" NaS LP's per say as far as using mutiple producers. Believe it or not though it was a compilation, "Lost Tapes 2" was the most traditional NaS LP of the three as far as using variety of Producers and styles (Hit-Boy and Ye were both on it too). So yes I think Hit-Boy earned some future placements going forward for sure. But NaS never goes back to the exact same well again, he always evolves. Nasir to LT2 to KD was an mini evolution within itself. So Hit-Boy should be brought back but also some more producers. We know he was working with Swizz on something previously. Also snippets of him working with Dre again. Hopefully "Lost Tapes 3" will be in the works eventually as well. This is the power of having your own Label. You can release your projects when you want and how you want So this Decade is looking nice for Esco. But Yes Hit-Boy has earned his spot into NaS's producer rotation. He did a great job.

Off topic, but I'd love to see AZ work with Hitboy. I feel like he could give AZ a modern version of that smooth celebratory vibe he's been going for. There's a bunch of beats on that Hitboy solo album (Chauncey Hollis) that would fit AZ like a glove.

An AZ album with cuts from Hit, No I.D. and JUSTICE League would be :whew:

Wonder if Sosa would reach out to him?

AZ DESTROYED Full Circle. I’d love to see a full project come to fruition

I think Nas has to run it back with Hit Boi. I am aware of Nas past with never doing the same thing twice but at this late stage in his career, with everything clicking’, you’ll have to explain to me why he wouldn’t run it back.

I love Nasty Nas and I love to hear that from him but I know we will get that from his Lost Tapes series. He found the pocket, let him stay in and cook. He can do Nasty Nas in his sleep. Let him give us the special mixture that he found in KD.

I’m cool with more Hit Boy but would like other people brought in. Similar to how Hit Boy exec produced Sean’s album, allowing other producers to send a couple beats. Could be a good way to get heat from Swizz and Timbo without allowing them to sneak wack shyt in lol.

Maybe get some guys like Alchemist and Premo involved. Alch providing loops and Hit Boy doing the trap sequencing would be wild for instance.

I agree. And He must do it while on the limelight off this grammy win, follow-up quickly.

I wonder how Kanye feels about this.

he prolly thinking this should’ve been him, all the accolades Hit Boy getting with Nas lol

Kanye only spent a week on Nasir. Imagine what they could’ve cooked up with a real full couple months together:lawd:
