I'm listening now. Hit said he had to fight with Nas to keep Beef on the album

Nas thought people wouldn't fukk with it because it's not on the level of I Gave You Power.

Nas doesn’t like doing sequel songs even though he’s recorded a BUNCH in the past.

There’s sequels to Small World, Last Words, and I believe The Set Up that will never see the light of day because Nas doesn’t feel they live up to the original

Thats how we end up with Lost Tapes....If he's going to compare his current records to joints like I Gave You Power he wouldnt be able to release anything anymore. I get artists are their own biggest critics tho

I remember they said Q-Tip was a perfectionist and they would have to drag him out the studio right up until they had to submit the Tribe albums.

ahh I see what you mean. Technically, it makes sense since "futile" means "worthless". But yeah, it's not normally applied to describe an actual person, in that sense.
