Thank you, I've been sayin this for years ! a lot of nas' album have unreleased cuts that blew away a lot of the retail ones. lets rearrange iam and nastradamus to the double disc, some tracks on stillmatic, streets disciple, hhid untitled and lig and you got way better albums. the beats are good for the style nas have. no overproduced shyt or to synthetics. his beats got soul and age pretty well if you compare to vol 2 and 3 jay z for example
hit boy got rid of the extra filler tracks, you can press play on any of the hit boy series and it flows well
the so called backpackers only critique nas on his beats just cause with no real arguments. mega got almost all the illmatic producers on born again and no one praised that album. no one check for primo and large pro beats outside the nas conversation. no one praised the 2 pete rock beats on lost tapes 2. if nas were to get produced by them, they would procede to say it's not illmatic
Ima post that video from royce once again, denoucing the hypocrisy of these backpacker sheeps
"The Art of It" was a disgusting song. I even have it memorized. But everybody ignored it, so I don't want to hear any more complaints.
That guy Royce was arguing with is a complete moron. He had literally no arguments.
-Kept repeating the same thing like he forgot what he just said
-Had no examples of Nas' bad beats, because the songs were so bad, he couldn't remember them
-Mentioned his first three albums as the only ones he can listen to
-Named "Cops Shot the Kid" as a beat he liked, the worst beat on the album
These "Nas picks bad beats" people are all the same.
Nas did that with Nasty on LIG. But that’s not really how he crafts albums.
I think Salaam Remi had to convince Nas to make that song, because Nas doesn't feel challenged by songs like that. It's something he could do in his sleep. But apparently, that's what inspired Kanye to make "Otis."
