19-Nas - The Don.mp3
at first i considered adding black bond & where's the love after accident murderer but that would really cut the album in half.. might make the second part too mellow. i love it just how made it there now, makes more sense lyrically & sonically
thoughts?
post yours. but please no 10 track this-would-match-illmatic type tracklist. the man put in work to get 19 tracks there. cuttin it in half is straight disrespect.
1. No Introduction
2. A Queen's Story
3. Accident Murderers
4. Loco-Motive
5. Back When
6. Daughters
The album is supposed to transition from his past life to his new, so 1-6 would be a threshold for his earlier days. No Introduction would be like Uncle Nas sitting around with his children at the fireplace, adjusting his lenses on the rocker chair, ready to divulge into a story about his life

A Queen's Story would kick off the album conceptually, like a time machine. Daughters can also act as a bridge from his old life to new.
7. Reach Out
8. Nasty
9. Summer on Smash
10. The Don
I thought Nas would have done a gritty portion of the album, back-to-back, so this is how 7-10 would have looked like. Reach Out has that 90's sound to it, so it fits the scheme of things.
11. (I would have put an Interlude) The Black Bond
12. You Wouldn't Understand
13. Where's the Love
14. World's an Addiction
11-14 right here don't really got any particular theme to it, just Nas rapping coherently on a bunch of different topics. The Black Bond would have been a great transition from The Don, and imagine You Wouldn't Understand followed by Where's The Love and World's an Addiction
15. Roses
16. Trust
17. Cherry Wine
18. Stay
19. Bye Baby
This shyt right here would have closed the album out perfectly. Starting from track 13 to 16, the album takes on a darker tone, so they fit together well, and since those songs are about love and finding people and things you can trust, Cherry Wine would follow it well, which is about finding equals to compliment each other. That would lighten up the mood of the album into a celebratory, closure premise for the rest of the CD. Stay leads to Bye Baby which would round out the album.
