Started reading tonight and ended up plowing thru 70 pages. It's actually a semi serious and well written book. A lot of you Stan's would be well served o read this. It isn't vitriolic so much as it is just common sense.

^^^Dyson has already been eviscerated by Bol for being the bandwagoning blowhard that he is in the first few chapters.

Try again, silly.

He's referred to himself as a broke, drunk, fat, suburban, one eyed nerd within the first 70 pages numerous times. Doesn't change how spot on his analysis of Nas (and Jay, Fear Of a Black Planet, Life After Death, Wu etc) has been so far.

Pic is a couple days old. Essentially, some kid bought the book at midnight and took a screen of it after narrowing it down to the rap and hip hop section in kindle books.

Even with all that, it's still $4 bargain bin trash, even if it's a recent release. Bol has always begged for attention like this, so mission accomplished... I guess.

I actually paid 10 bucks for it. And it's actually well written, insightful and hilarious so far. He's spent as much time talking about the Gin Blossoms and Jay Z's trend hopping as he has Nas' spotty music.

Says 36 Chambers is his favorite rap album and without Cuban Linx that IWW & Reasonable Doubt & Life After Death don't sound the way they do content wise.

Also has some interesting info about the albums that received 5 mics up until Illmatic and those that didn't (The Chronic in particular).

I'm telling you it's a good read. It isn't just a shyt on Nas fest....yet.
