As good as Stillmatic is, I always think it could've been better if he used some of the songs that ended up here, ESPECIALLY Doo Rags, No Idea's Original, and Black Zombie.
It might've been crazy to say it then, but Lost Tapes may actually be a better album than Stillmatic overall. Granted, Lost Tapes doesn't have "One Mic", "2nd Childhood", "Rewind", "Stillmatic Intro", "Ether", "What Goes Around", "You're Da Man" or "Every Ghetto", but it still has some of Nas's best songs.
Lost Tapes has songs that sound like poetic journal entries. It's a very introspective piece of work that was more revealing of who Nas is than I Am was.
