It might've been crazy to say it then, but Lost Tapes may actually be a better album than Stillmatic overall. Granted, Lost Tapes doesn't have "One Mic", "2nd Childhood", "Rewind", "Stillmatic Intro", "Ether", "What Goes Around", "You're Da Man" or "Every Ghetto", but it still has some of Nas's best songs.
Lost Tapes has songs that sound like poetic journal entries. It's a very introspective piece of work that was more revealing of who Nas is than I Am was.
I used to try to make my own track list out of the I Am leaks, Nastradamus and Lost Tapes, but now I honestly just think of this album for what it is. An I Am and Stillmatic hybrid. This album kinda takes the place of I Am for me and I also find it superior to Stillmatic. Just wish it had OG Project Windows, Nas is Like and Rise & Fall. shyt I’d probably put it over Illmatic at that point.
