tpab is objectively 3 times better. you may bump that nas album more, but it doesn't make it better.


kendrick's album is a solid 9 or 10/10 fro ma pure objective standpoint, that nas album is like 6/10

tpab is more ambitious & complete on a musical level

how many intruments/compostions did kendrick play/compsoe on tpab? he displayed 0 improvement as a n mc from gkmc to tpab. which imo was disspaointing.

the actual rapping on TPAB is overshadowed by the compositions. stil great music. but thist :s shouldnt happen to the "GOAT" of this generation

illmatic is probably the only nasir's album better than tpab, thats about it.

The composition of tpab is miles ahead of anything I have ever heard from Nas. Being a complete artist >>>> being a rhymer

Kendrick proved that he was a complete artist while nas is still just a rhymer

you have these artists like kanye, prince, and then you have the rhymers, they're still inredible, but they just not as good as the artists.

i love kendrick since in the mainstream him and lupe are our only hope.

just shows how diminished our expectations are today

if ANY of the elite artist you want to put kendrick in the same category as had his DREAM TEAM of producers/musicans etc you dont think they could cook up sumthing similar or better?


without them hes s80 kendikk which is still an amazing artist but doesnt belong in the same teir as the greats

well, this isn't just the most critically acclaimed album of this generation, its being acclaimed for being better than most albums released 15 years ago.
For example, the verge called it the greatest album of the century

and it includes the lost tapes, it just can't compare.

I find TPAB to be a much better body of work

But then again music has evolved.. a lot of recent albums do sound better than a lot of oldschool albums

You just confirmed that you're a troll.

If anything, you've just confirmed this album was better. Working with great producers doesn't mean your album will be better. You have to be a great artist, you need to have that musical knowledge to make such a great body of work, you need to understand music, you need to have that vision.

I have seen artists working with a shyt load of amazing producers and the final result was still wack. Kendrick proved that he had the knowledge to make something special

Nas is much more of skilled and a better artist than Kendrick, it's not close either. Critical acclaim means nothing in Hip Hop, but regardless Illmatic is more acclaimed than all Kendrick albums too.

Kendrick is much more talented & creative as an artist. He just didn't rap over these instrumentals, He was also the orchestra conductor.
