I’m just saying creatively wouldn’t you want to hear something unexpected?

NAS X hit boy is basically playing it safe at this point.

Thats bullshyt

None of the four albums Nas and Hit Boy have done have sounded the same. Whatever you want to say about those albums, playing it “safe” damn sure ain’t one of them.

Without Hit Boy we don’t get The Firm reunion

Without Hit Boy we don’t get the first Lauryn Hill/Nas rapping track

Without Hit Boy we don’t get Magic

If your a Nas fan, you should be thanking GOD for Nas’s decision to work with Hit Boy. And if their collaborations are still inspiring him to drop a FIFTH album in four years then we shouldn’t be rooting for Nas to hop off the Hit Boy train anytime soon.

Some of Nas fans are just corny! Complaining about the new but requesting to hear the old. Y’all will never hear another artist fan base do this wack shyt but corny ass Nas fans. Thank Goodness he ignores this part of his base.

I will never understand the line of thinking of "Nas shouldn't go back to this producer because we want a new sound" as if that opens the door to work with whoever it is they feel Nas should work with. Even if Nas decides to an album with other producers, it probably will be another producer the same complainers will complain about.

I will gladly say this group of Nas base are useless. They are a strange bunch of weirdos. They love to complain about the new and constantly requesting the old. Most of them don’t even support the new and winning formula but boldly feel they’re entitled to express that they are tired of the winning and need something else they will more than likely complain about as well. What other fan base does this? Theiy’re as bad as his haters.

It ain't about wanting to hear Nas go back to Premo and Extra P....them dudes have been washed for years.

It's about Hitboy mid ass beats...them lame ass poor man's 9th Wonder soul loops with tinny weak drums. Poor melodies....everything midtempo.

I know some of the Nas stans on this site are fighting for their life to try and convince people he's some tier 1 great producer....but the shyt is clearly not true :mjlol:

His beats sound alright on the first couple of listens but the more you hear them you realize how hollow his production is.

Let's not pretend that Hitboy's beats are so next level and boundary pushing that people can't understand the brave new soundscapes Nas is rappin' on....they're some offbrand Roc-a-Fella era beats you'd hear on a Young Gunz album.

They can’t possibly be true fans. I think these particular fans are oops posing as fans. Something is just not authentic about them. When the love is not real this is the type of shyt you get.

I don't think it's about Hit Boy being a tier 1 great producer or him having next level beats. His sound is great for Nas and that's what's important. People complained for years about Salaam Remi. We haven't had a Salaam Remi beat on a Nas album since Life Is Good. Nas linked up with Kanye for Nasir and that was pretty much a slam dunk on paper, but how did it sound? How was the execution? And we know that was squarely on Kanye because of how he handled and approached the project. I still recall the complaints about the production lineup for the album that didn't get released. There were people who didn't want Timbaland and No I.D. anywhere near a Nas album. This was after No I.D. laced Life Is Good with standouts. There's people who even dismissed songs like "Roses" and "Trust" without hearing a note just because of the name of the producer.

Salaam Remi is a much better producer than Hitboy. Him and Nas made classics together.

Hitboy + Nas is cool but they don't have one classic together if we keepin it a buck.

shyt sounds surface level. Nas + Remi had a lot of misses but their dope shyt is over the top dope. Same with Preme, Hav etc. There's some grit missing with Hitboys sound.
