A few dudes want Nas to use the very same flow/delivery over the same redundant beats, on every single track. Go listen to Rome Streets for that.
It would make no sense to drop a 3rd album in less than 2 years, and not switch it up a little.
Whether acknowledged upon first listen or it grew on you, this album is dope.

It's not as bad as Nasir, infact it's not bad... and Nas is spitting at times... But just doesn't hold up to the last 3. Some mid beats, and bad hooks(ouch). lol

I feel like this is at least on par with Magic. Where that was more grimey I feel like this just rocks more.
I’m a fan of drums and this album definitely got better drum patterns and basslines
Magic had 2 drumless beats and I never like the drums on Wave Gods.

This really does get better with each listen. I think a lot of brehs were expecting a certain type of album, myself included, and were disappointed but the production is really growing on me.

Yeah the mixing is off on some tracks. Can they adjust it (if they wanted to) after the album's release? Wasn't the mixing on "Thun" improved after KD3 was released?

Sounds crazy but this might be Nas’s best mic performance of the entire run.
He combined the braggadocio’s raps and introspection from both album series. He has literally mastered all flows at this point and can do pretty much whatever he wants on tracks. It’s amazing really.

I was thinking the same. Like on some rappity rap shyt, he put it down serious on this one. Might be the best Rap performance out of all…he was whylin on the first Magic too tho so idkSounds crazy but this might be Nas’s best mic performance of the entire run.

hitboy might not be the best but he was the producer the game needed cause he put a battery in Nas back like none before him. Everlast Flow. Duracell Production.
