I think the back and forth is half assed and the beat is hallow as fukk. This was around those 'Nas can rap but can't pick the right production to save his life' days.

They have like 10 other songs better than this on top of it.

I'm genuinely curious as to how you think this beat is trash, especially since I (and others on here) think it's phenomenal. You might have a very good point. Let me hear it.

I do. But

a) variety is the spice of life.
b) Snare is hard enough so the beat isn't weak. Besides, this is a breezy summer kinda beat. It works incredibly well for the kind of atmosphere it's trying to pull off.
c) I just like raw shyt. Hard bass/drums doesn't automatically make a track hard, and you can make hard tracks without hard drums (it's rare - but possible)

Let's recap for a second. You came into this thread firing a personal shot, which was unnecessary but I let you cook.

I tried to stay on topic, asking you why you thought it was weak. You then dissed everyone else in this thread as 'tin ear muhfukkas'. Another unnecessary shot.

Again I let you cook and kept trying to find out your specific reasons. Asked you to clarify "hallow"/"hollow" because those words weren't clear in the context of discussing rap beats. In general, people don't say "yo that beat's hollow" when discussing hip hop beats.

Then you go off on a deep end talking about "SirBiatch go-to moves", and "SirBiatch attention whoring"... all that might be valid in a different thread if we're talking about SirBiatch being woat, but it's fukking irrelevant to the simple question I've been asking and the content of this thread.

There are a number of hip hop classics that don't have the strongest drums. There are many ways to make some shyt raw and interesting.

Are these drums that much stronger than the one in Level 7?



and Level 7 is supposed to be laidback. The whole vibe of that record is some breezy laidback shyt.

I'm not saying you're completely wrong in your observation. Maybe the drums could be a tad stronger. But that alone a) doesn't make the track weak and b) it's a nitpick. I haven't even addressed your "back and forth being half-assed" comment because a) I find that and b) you haven't even bothered to explain what you mean, as usual.
