Jay Electronica will most likely win because he’s associated with Jay Z and it’s basically a joint album with Jay...and you know them white folks love Jay Z.

I didn't even think about this. You might be right on this one. The anti-semitic and Farrakhan association might torpedo it though.

I love Nas and the album, but Gibbs deserve man. Only thing missing was Benny but I read he missed the cut off.

And none for Eminem:pachaha:

Eminem has been very vocal about his opinion on the Grammys, so in my opinion I don’t think he cares. He already has several Grammys and his album is platinum..so this is no major loss.

Will be interesting to read the opinions of Griselda about not being nominated in spite of putting out several projects this year...

Gibbs or nas probably take it. Seems overdue for nas even if this album wasn’t really his best. I’m surprised big Sean wasn’t nominated, even though his album didn’t really stand a chance.

I respect the projects on the list but it feels dishonest

When I read the nominations, I thought the same. As a nominee it should make you wonder if the Grammy committee legitimately think your work deserves the nomination, or if the label/management/recent events has had an influence.

I can see why folks are upset. The Grammys have had actually had decent nominations over the past five years or so...I don't know what happened this time. The Nas and Freddy nominations make sense regardless of how anyone feels about perception of what's hot or not, those were great albums by veterans. Royce and Jay Elec's albums were decent at best and shouldn't have been nominated imo. Didn't hear D Smoke's album but I hear he's a "plant".

Roddy and Lil Baby 100% deserved to be nominated. Both are leaders of the new era, had solid debuts, and songs that shook up the culture.

EDIT: They snubbed the women too smh. Victoria Monet, Summer, Brandy, and Kiana Lede's albums deserved R&B nominations.

I think we might be finally seeing The Death of The Mumble Rap era and the long choke hold of Trap Music in hip hop
lol no. Mumble rap and trap are the money makers and the shyt that people party to. Grammys just decided to give a nod to more traditional rap this year because majority of the best albums this year were in that lane.
