Listen the Grammy rarely if ever get it right for Hip Hop. We all know that. But this is NaS 5th Nomination for "Best Rap Album" since 1999. That's 21 years straight of Best Rap Album Nods when we know he's deserved it over several albums that beat him. Nothing against the other guys and I'm glad they are getting recognition but it's Esco's time. 14th Nomination overall. Snoop has 17 Nominations and no win. Busta has 12 Nominations and no win. This is on some Oscars Denzel "Training Day" ish or Susan Lucie and the Emmy's. This is the Grammy's chance to give NaS a Lifetime Achievement Grammy. Again anything can happen but looking at the list NaS stands out as the elder statesmen. As for the younger kats not getting nominated. They all are dominating the "Singles" awards. So it's not like they didn't get anything. What I do like about this list is that it focuses on "Lyricism" more than Pop Charts or singles. I know some are disappointed Popsmoke didn't get the album nod but I saw "Dior" was nominated for the singles.

I believe we are at the point where people like Nas & Royce shouldn’t even be in the same category as Lil Baby & Roddy Rich. They need to split genres but no one knows how to do it at this point.

Nas is going to be win off narrative and his album is more complete than the others. I better not see Gibbs complain after the fact either. Alfredo was good but 1 dimensional like a mf.

It almost seems like they set it up for Nas to win. Still don’t care about the Grammys. It’s not like cats are going to be bringing up who won best rap album when debating mcs. I guess you can but it’s corny.

Yeah rap has always been extremely diverse but I don't remember it being this different stylistically. It's hard to even compare because what is being done is so different from one another.

I listened to some of these new nikkas just because I had time and was bored.

Lil Baby’s album wasn’t impressive to me. Besides The Bigger Picture its was the same old shyt most of these other younger rappers be on. He got two nominations in what he SHOULD have been nominated in, for SONGS. The album was just another example of these “artists” placing 2-3 hit singles amongst a bunch of filler to rack up streaming numbers.

Roddy Rich was the same shyt. I’d already heard half the album before but gave it a full listen. Didn’t fukk with it. Although I WILL say The Box is a banger. Thats just a great SONG no matter how you put it. And he was nominated accordingly.
