i agree, this makes Nas look like a hypocrite. but it's 2016, sadly alot of people won't care.
Friend, non-factual statements (mostly based on opinion) made 15 years apart, does not deserve the label of hypocrite.

Some of y'all need to realize Nas ain't in his early 2000s mode either.

also i think this is based on Regional Bias.....

had NAS said it was DESIGNER who was pushing flows forward..

it would be more cosigns than outrage..

"brooklyn stand up!!!"...."nas being a real og recognizing the young heads"...."nas really is a prophet!!!" blah blah

lmao...................

Yeah but those who claim to CARE...like yourself..no disrespect DON'T UNDERSTAND...

Early 2000s CAMRON and 2016 Future...come from TWO DIFFERENT BUSINESS MODELS

Camron's approach based on his peers ...Mase and Big L was TO BE LYRICAL!!!

so of course HE NEEDED TO STEP his game up as NAS said......he is in that field ..the emcee field

FUTURE ON THE OTHER hand his approach was mostly CLUB FRIENDLY HOOKS....his aim ain't to be a lyrical emcee

so that's a BAD ANALOGY............. THAT'S apples and oranges

besides NAS as i said to yall has been in the south for several years now....

its not uncommon to catch Nas at one of the random ATL nightclubs where the playlist is mostly trap music..

so his perspective is DIFFERENT to alot of yall who figured yall knew this man well

Cam wasn't that bad though, not sure why Nas bashed him. i mean Jay did give him that deal on Rocafella :yeshrug:

Nas has went against the grain for Hip Hop alot of times though, saying "Hip Hop is Dead" and all that. he's been working with alot of artists i've never thought he'd work with like Tyga, Rick Ross, Wayne etc. but i understand it, he needs to work with them to keep his name infloat with the new generation.

Must be depressing to be :flabbynsick: 90s head. Like what is it now that you actually enjoy?

Then seeing your heroes cosign dudes like future, ghostwriting etc. Dark days ahead for y'all.

:francis:

Talib Kweli says he likes & sticking up for trap rappers, also sonning the shyt out of backpack rappers on Twitter

Self proclaimed "real hip hop fans" on suicude watch :mjcry:

it still had to get thru on paper. Jay was the one controlling everything wasn't he? plus he still got that Welcome To NYC verse from Hov though :francis:

uhh no...they all had a third of controlling intrest in the brand... (biggs, dame, jay)

look for the sake of business just like when i had my company ...you cosign or just let shyt ride that you PERSONALLY don't agree with

there was alot of moves that i didn't like my business partner doing..and what i was doing likewise he wasn't feeling

but like i said it's for the sake of business......and i think the CAM thing was one of those situations were JAY was like fukk it lets roll with it

till it got frustrating for him especially with DAME appointing CAM the president position without even consulting JAY

which was the straw that broke the camel's (no pun intended)

considering Cam was outrapping just about everybody but like 2 maybe 3 people at the time and was probably the hottest or was on his way to becoming the hottest rapper in the city at the time he didn't have to step his game up really.

Nas called him a good lyricist, it was the album criticized but let's be honest, he really only had a problem because he joined the "enemy." even more odd him and Cam just had a conversation days before Nas went on the radio blurting it out.

nope. Biggs confirmed Cam was getting signed regardless of what Jay wanted and came to the label with a chunk of the album already done. when it went platinum (the first Roc rapper not named Jay to do so) Jay kept up the patronizing tone towards Cam and them saying in i think..the Source that it "exceed his expectations."

add in all the other stuff and those two didn't like each other.
they have a weird timeline they were around the same people in situations for years but never "together".
