only thing that gets me is the juxtaposition of rollouts. First the Mass Appeal stream fukked up on the 14th, then the album didn't come out until the 15th was almost over. That's a terrible look. Got people laughing about him, calling him old etc...including the label and Chris Rock adding in on the memes. Album comes out and sounds sloppy and like it could have used another week in the oven.

And then Hov/B drop something out of nowhere, with a video, that sounds polished as fukk. With some beats that are better than everything on the post-Daytona albums Kanye released.

OPs logic would have made sense 15 years ago when people actually went to the store to buy albums, and they were probably only going to pick up one.

But in the streaming era it doesn’t matter. It’s not like people that have Apple Music or Tidal are going to be like “I can only listen to one of these this weekend, so I’m just going to stream Jay all day.” If anything it helps Nas, because it brings more traffic to those platforms, and people who weren’t aware Nas had an album out are going to see it.

Exactly especially with all these memes and post from people that got an audience trying to be funny about it, it's giving Nas attention as well.
