He rarely plays any of the joints on that album live in concert. I found it repetitive after a while when it initially came out, but am listening to it again and finding some cuts I enjoy.

the black cat is my crown...
to me it was mediocre.... maybe it just came out in the wrong era... it did have some really tough joints on it tho'.... overall tho', maybe it was too long .... whatever it was, it wasn't all that.....

If you take the best 10 tracks, it's a dope album. The released version was too long though.

There's all those unreleased tracks floating around as well.

Beyond mediocre... It one have been great as one album. I think Columbia dropped SC1.5 in 04 or 05.

I wasn't a fan of it when it dropped but going back and listening to it now, it smokes 99% of hip hop today, disc 1 alone is :ahh:

One of my favorite albums. I absolutely love the 2nd Disc, maybe because I was about to get married and could relate to what Nas was saying. A perfect album that always puts me in a good mood.

*Sends "No One Else in the Room" to gf*:ahh:

A Buckeye State Of Mind
I'm gonna be real with y'all
It's my least favorite NaS album:yeshrug:
Lyrically it was on point but other than that it was bland for an esco lp. It didn't feel like a true NaS album.

But if you cut it down to a single disc, you'll fukk around and make a near classic:ahh:

Id still take this album over most albums that come out today:mjpls:

the trashcan
Ninety-percent of the production sounds incomplete and half assed. However, I thought his lyrics and particularly the subject matter was interesting.
