I think if you took out some of the filler tracks towards the back end of IWW and just picked the best 8, 9 or 10.. then you'd have a sub-40 minute album that would be better than Illmatic. IMO Illmatic benefits from being 10-15 minutes shorter than most other classic albums, there's no filler on it so a lot of people rank it higher than albums which are longer but have a little filler

I didn't like Black Girl Lost, and although I love it personally a lot of people don't fukk with Nas is Coming. The album would be considerably stronger (obviously it's an A+ top tier classic and I personally rate it higher than Illmatic) in the eyes of most of the people who say it ain't shyt if you took out those two tracks.

IMO tracks 2-9 are the best. Add in the intro and If I Ruled the World and that's an album probably a few minutes longer than Illmatic but indisputably better because it's straight fire from start to finish.

I'm not sure why but i could never fukk with Street Dreams, song just came off corny to me for some reason

That & Nas Is Coming i always skip.
