Quite possibly. But generally, the Roots diss was more viewed as a shot to BIG. Big often had folks waving Champ in his early vids, and was viewed as the torchbearer of that whole "champagne-waving movement." So if it was a diss to Nas and this vid specifically, it was a byproduct of them going at BIG and every rapper who bandwagoned.
