What is it usefulness? It’s no different than gold

Go listen to a fukkin podcast or use Google bro I’m not gonna explain this to you only for you to ask me 3 more follow up questions, and still disagree at the end because you still don’t understand. You called Coinbase a meme IPO, that’s enough for me to know the gap of your understanding is too much to fix with a post (or four).

I’ve already wasted time on you in another thread talking about stock options and ownership stakes.

EDIT: It’s a decentralized currency so a). it’s immune to government intervention (huge spending bills) and b). It’s a great hedge against inflation.

If you have thousands of dollars in a regular savings account, you’re literally losing money because the interest you get from a savings account doesn’t keep up w/ the inflation of the US dollar. There you got 45 seconds, that’s all you’re getting out of me

It's not useful. People will talk all day but will not be able to come up with one situation where its more useful than existing currencies.

Only reason people would want it is for money laundering/drug deals everyone else is just holding it so they can flip it.

This is not true. A savings account can't lose value but bitcoin/crypto absolutely can...it's winning now but it won't be forever

Bitcoin right now is pretty useless as a currency. You can't really use it for shyt basically.

Well I lie, it's currently really useful for making money off of people that buy it off you at a higher price than you bought it for.

The idea is that someday it'll replace fiat currency but we've been hearing that forever and it's no closer to being anywhere close to true.

Coinbase is a good investment simply because they make money no matter what the price of bitcoin is.

A savings account can absolutely lose value if the interest you get on it doesn’t keep up with inflation. Go look at how much the US Dollar has inflated since 2010. If you had money in a savings account, your money got less valuable. You’re gonna see it next year if you haven’t yet, everyday things are going to get more expensive. Gas already is, wood and lumber is up 30-40% which increases building cost of new houses. We are pumping 5 Trillion new dollars into the market, do you not get inflation? Those stimulus checks that you and @CrimsonTider got are making everybody’s dollar slightly less valuable.

Crypto is a good hedge against inflation, because it won’t be affected by government actions that devalue dollars. Hell, crypto is running up
Now partly because people are terrified of inflation and putting their dollars into cryptocurrency.

There, just gave you two perfectly good uses for it, but you still won’t absorb any of it.

I think he means directly. The Fed controls the printing of new money and also take money out of the economy. they got nothing to do with the creation of cryptos.

Thank you

Fed government intervention, and consumer’s reaction to said intervention are two different things.

I know what he means but it doesn't really matter as long as the value of crypto is still being measured in dollars.
