Do you live in NY? I do and I know all the fuss that's made when these things happen

There's always damage done by these large real estate projects.

There's protests going on right now about putting the casinos in Times Square because it will negatively effect the theater industry on Broadway.

There were protests a few years ago when they tried to get a casino in Queens near the Mets stadium.

Why do you think we don't we don't Walmart in NYC? They would destroy the small businesses here so all their attempts to build one get blocked.

Maybe do some research.
Yeah the effect Barclays center had on locals is well documented. Jay brought them in to get the locals out. Shoulda stayed selling drugs.

Jay's involvement isn't overstated, at all.

He's been trying to do this with mad different people for close to 10 years, in various locations. He's not just some average rapper. He's literally more connected than probably any other artist in music. And already manages something like a couple of billion dollars in contracts through Roc Nation and another like 500 million, he said, in media deals.

These are the types of move he's been making for a minute. He's more than just a "celebrity" or rapper. That should be more than obvious by now. Bro's business acumen is on full display in his numbers and successes. Dudes can't minimize that type of motion. He's working on an entirely different level, these days.

You glazin

Drake lost like Jay. It's ok to admit that and move on. I swear therapy is an option.

Jay's bid is coming through Roc Nation
His bid to secure the gaming license was through the company.

Jay's involvement isn't overstated, at all.
You literally wrote that his bid to secure the gaming license was through Roc Nation and I pointed out it wasn’t. You personally as well as many media reports overstate his involvement.
I’m not a Jay-Z hater in any reading of anything. I do care about facts though.

This is not my opinion or the media's opinion.

Those are the numbers, and that's what the people involved with the proposals are saying. Including Jay himself. If that's not something you like or want to accept, I don’t know what else to tell you. But you posting on an online forum about how you think his involvement is "overstated" doesn't really speak to anything factual or pause any of the moves. You gotta just live with that.

1. The casino will not be near QB or LIC.
2. It will be just adding on to an already existing casino on the other side of Queens at a rave track thats set to close down next year.
3. It will create more jobs and possibly help other businesses in the area with the new foot trafffic.

Good to hear.

I have no problems as long as these casinos aren't being built in the middle of a community.

They were never gonna allow that in Times Squares... they have spent 15+ years trying to clean up Times Square from the hell hole it was in the 1970s,80s and early 90s
I seen a fight in Times Square at like 2:30am last year between a nig with pink hair and some foreigner looking dude, like 15 people were crowded around them screaming. I almost vomited. That said tho…you been to Atlantic City? 😂🤣🤣🤣🤣😂🤣🤣😂. Talk about a fukking hell hole, that shhit is a whole sewer…encompassing all these lavish ass casinos 😆

Communities often experience a net economic drain despite promises of revenue when it comes to Casinos. A reminder that Jay-Z is a capitalist whose false promises re: the Barclays Brooklyn resulted in gentrification and displacement.
